Unrated Libraries

As the Table below illustrates, only 7,930 of 9,214 libraries in the IMLS dataset were rated in this edition.  The other 1,284 did not provide the necessary data to calculate the ratings or were not deemed a legal library by IMLS. 

Beginning this year, HAPLR is excluding libraries that did not report necessary data.  Previously we used the imputed data from IMLS, but no longer.

The table below shows the number of libraries in each category that did not receive a rating because one or more of the necessary data elements were not reported.  It also notes the number of libraries that did not report in each of the 10 necessary categories.  Note that libraries become disqualified by failing to report any of the items below, but that many libraries had multiple instances of non-reporting.
