Presentations- Budgets in the Red Hennen's article "Restore Our Destiny: Full not Plural Funding," appeared in American Libraries, August 2004 on pages 43-45. This article asserts the need for libraries to be fully funded as a public good rather than be funded by NPR style fund-raising. The March 2003 issue of American Libraries carried his article: “We Must Answer to Library Budgets in the Red.” Together these two articles indicate the type of speech that can be expected on this topic. The speech is ideal for a state or regional library association conference. Librarians everywhere are worried about the devastation that budget cuts are doing to their libraries. This realistic assessment with a core of firm hope will resonate with their concerns. Room Setup details. I will need a screen and projector that can connect with a computer using Microsoft Powerpoint. I expect to be able to load the software and test the equipment at least a half an hour before the program. I prefer a portable microphone as well as a podium. Type and Length of Presentation: One to two hour lecture/discussion session. Sample presentation: Forthcoming Contact: Thomas J. Hennen Jr.
