We are sorry to announce that the 2007 edition has
been cancelled because of a delay in the release of the 2005 federal
data. At present we anticipate that the 2008 edition will come out
in the first half of 2008. That edition will use the 2006 data.
That means that the 2005 data will be skipped.
The 2006 edition again rates over 9,000 public libraries in the
United States. We rely on the latest data from the
Federal State Cooperative
Service. Libraries are
rated, scored and ranked on 15 input and output measures. The
latest (2004) public library statistics were published by the
National
Center for Educational Statistics in July of 2006. The HAPLR
ratings receive newspaper, magazine and television coverage all over the
country.
The latest
article on HAPLR is featured in American
Libraries magazine in the November 2006 issue.
